KMR: Pull call system to supply materials on demand

The purpose of the Taxi Call System (KMR) is to supply materials on demand to the production line. To implement this methodology there are “calling” systems where an operator presses a button in a dedicated device to request the material. The device transmits the signal to a server that dispatches the calls to available taxis (Fork lifts, tuggers, etc). The taxis collect the material requested and deliver it to the point where the call was generated.

1. The KMR Taxi Call System is comprised of the following elements:

The KMR Button Terminal:

Is the main element of the system, its primary purpose is to make the call when the line side operator pushes the button.

The Wi-Fi Network

Is the information transport media. The product must be able to establish a communication link using industry standard protocols.

Application Server

This software manages the system operation; it is in charge of receiving the calls from the Terminals and dispatches the calls to the Taxis which in turn deliver the materials to the point of origin of the call.

Tablet Computer on Taxi

Is the media by which the Taxi (fork lift, tugger, etc) drivers are informed of the material request. It communicates with the server using the same WI-FI infrastructure.
